Spike/Buffy rec
It's a WIP in first person POV (which, really, people need WARNINGS for? Please unbunch your panties, fandom), present tense to boot. I guess if I'm going to break my own rules I figure I should go all out. :D
Anyway.

Enjoy, if you aren't already.
Unrelated, thanks for the kitten & birthday wishes, anonymous person! ::hugs::

I can handle almost any unusual narrative device or stylistic flourish if it makes sense and is done well. Just what's done well is hard to gauge, of course. It's very much a case of knowing it when you see it, and that can be different for everyone. Not to be a total suck up, but I have every confidence that you know what you're doing with those unusual narrative devices you mentioned. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Shorter answer: please don't be concerned. If you can tell me now that there is no quasi-bestiality (that I have to say that is a concern makes me sad pants, but it's happened, and I've never been able to get past the weirdness to continue reading the story. CANNOT UNSEE!) or shape-shifting, pretty much I feel confident in saying there will be no flailing from me about anything you, specifically, do.
I also get painfully long-winded and unfocused when I'm tired, which I am at the moment. Apologies for the rambling.
"Yay" right back atcha, btw. Woo, libraries! \o/

Shapeshifting... uh... I don't have any characters that are *human* shapeshifters. There might be a demon or something similar that changes forms or uses glamour, though I don't think that's the same thing. If I were going to have a shapeshifter, it'd be Oz... but he's not in this one. (My next WIP though will have Oz in it.) Most of the demons I used in this story are adapted from existing folklore, and I didn't really have much use for shapeshifters, except in one instance... and even then it never becomes human.

I think I went a little too inside jokey with my comment, and that was a mistake. I mean, both of the things I mentioned have been written in Spike/Buffy fandom before, so what I said came from reality (sadly! lol), but the ideas and the execution were just SO out there I find them laughable. I'm a big sci-fi/fantasy dork, who can and will suspend disbelief for a lot, but sometimes, it's too much and my brain puts the brakes on.
btw, I adore Oz. I'd like to put him in my pocket so I can carry him around with me all the time. <3
