woo! new skill unlocked
I've finally learned how to make animated gifs in Photoshop. SO OVERDUE. And talk about a fuckin' time-sink! :D It gets easier with each one, yeah, but still. It's taken me three days to make just four gifs, (there's a whole lot of stuffing it up going on; I keep doing things backwards :/) and there's only one I don't hate in retrospect. Total admiration for people who make these things by the boatload and make them well! Anyhoo, I had to share my first non-cringe-inducing (I hope) animated icon.

Also, that icon of yours makes me want to moonwalk. Y'know, if I could moonwalk, which I can't. Anyway...those two are so adorable it kills me.

Figuring out photoshop is a never ending puzzle! I found that when making moving gifs imageready is a godsend!!

You can make .gifs from .mov files (quicktime). So you can just import the file into Imageready and it will put it into pictures for you. Also, you can import multiple pictures in the same folder in Imageready. Then, you just go to File > Edit in Photoshop and have at it in there! Saves opening them one by one in photoshop and then putting them all onto the same file....
Hope this helps a little!
The icon above and on this post were made in a combination of these techniques...

I have the toughest time settling on a frame rate (which seems especially hard when the caps skip a lot of frames. So glad I found

Its good you have found someone who does awesome screencaps, it does take half the work out it. Frame rate and how many pics can vary (and tricky!!)...so have fun, I can't wait to see more! If you like, I can give you the free program I use to make my own screencaps (I only do this if I have to, used for like all of my Sanctuary/Robin Dunne icons.) The file has to be .AVI and it takes a little tinkering to get the settings to what you want. But well worth it :D
