French translation, anyone?

I have some lyrics I'd love to have translated, and as you can imagine, online translators make a pretty fair mess of things. (One line was translated as And on my horse-gear, which I doubt is what it actually means. hahaha!)

Can anyone help? Or know of someone who can help me out?

It's not a big deal, I'm considering putting them on a banner, but I'd like to know what it means, you know? I don't really want to put something up that will make anyone who speaks French do a spit-take. :D

Well, keep in mind that I'm translating from one foreigh language to another foreign language, but here's my version

About my dreams; it's the beginning
And I hope for a happy ending
But ending of the story doesn't look very nice
For the story's sake, we must pretend

Thank you! Looks like I'll be safe using the lyrics for a banner. :D (And I figure so long as it turned out she wasn't singing about purple sheep who run a haberdashery, I could probably get away with it! lol)
